Following the street work\ndeveloped by volunteers, on the streets of Lisbon in 1978, Pastor Lucas da\nSilva and the Portuguese Assemblies of God movement in cooperation with the\nPortuguese Red Cross acquired a farm that would become the first Therapeutic\nCommunity of Teen Challenge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since its founding, Teen Challenge is concerned with getting to know and accompanying people in their different contexts, in order to help them find more satisfactory and healthy alternatives of life. Consequently, in the same manner as addiction and dependencies , Teen Challenge has also been transformed and adapted to new realities without compromising its identity. Throughout its existence, Teen Challenge has had some defining moments that have been apart of its history, fundamental patrimony for the construction of its future. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

1978<\/strong> – Acquisition of a farm in Fanh\u00f5es, labeled\nas the first Therapeutic Community and headquarters of the institution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1981<\/strong> – Constitution of the association called\nTeen Challenge Portugal; D.R. No. 293 III Series, 22-12-81.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1986<\/strong> – Implementation of the Therapeutic\nCommunity for female users in Salvaterra de Magos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1988<\/strong> – Beginning of the volunteer team –\n\u201cOpera\u00e7\u00e3o Josu\u00e9\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1989<\/strong> – Constitution of the Technical Corps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1990<\/strong> – Obtaining the IPSS status with definitive registration under No. 14\/90 in the Book of Institutions for Health Purposes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1991<\/strong> – Implementation of Crisis Community for\nmale users in Lourel – Sintra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1993<\/strong> \u2013 Agreement of cooperation was established\nbetween the Regional Social Security Center of Lisbon and Vale do Tejo and Teen\nChallenge for users in Social Reintegration Apartments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1994<\/strong> – Implementation of Crisis Community for\nmale users in Castanheira do Ribatejo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1995<\/strong> – Creation of the Ethics Committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1996\/97<\/strong> – Attribution of operating licenses by the\nSPTT to the Therapeutic Communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1999<\/strong> – Update to the Cooperation Agreement\nbetween the Regional Social Security Center of Lisbon and Vale do Tejo and Teen\nChallenge for users in Social Reintegration Apartments<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1997<\/strong> – Exchange between the Therapeutic\nCommunity in Salvaterra de Magos and the Community of Crisis in Lourel, leaving\nthe therapeutic community for female users operating in Lourel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1998<\/strong> – Implementation of the Therapeutic Community for male users in de Cucuj\u00e3es – Oliveira de Azem\u00e9is<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1999<\/strong> – Implementation of the Therapeutic Community for male users in Alter do Ch\u00e3o<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2006<\/strong> – Conversion of the Therapeutic Community in Fanh\u00f5es to Community Insertion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2009<\/strong> – Conversion of the Therapeutic Community of Cucuj\u00e3es into Mixed Community<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2009 – 2015<\/strong> \u2013 Up to the date activity has been focused on the adequacy of therapeutic responses to changes resulting from legislative modifications and socioeconomic context. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
